Zirconia Inlays – Onlays

Inlays/ onlays are indirect fillings made of porcelain that fit into & on the tooth. Inlays & olays are used to make the tooth stronger by holding it together, as a natural and esthetically desirable color. These fillings are similar to regular fillings (composite fillings), except that they are firmly cemented by the dentist and are made in the dental laboratory as opposed to being moulded in the shape of the mouth. Inlays/ onlays are used in cases where there is inadequate tooth structure to support a filling but the tooth does not require a crown.

The advantage of inlay/ onlay fillings is that they are longer lasting and can be aesthetically made perfect in a laboratory.
